The specialty rice consists of crisp rice, wild rice, Arborio, Basmati,
Jasmine rice, and PB-Dixiebelle. Crisp rice is made from whole grain
medium rice the result is unique crisp rice with clean flavor and a crisp
texture. Our crisp rice holds up better than the extruded or batched
crisp rice. Wild rice WR-107 is a cultivated wild rice that has been
pre-cooked and dehydrated resulting in a quick cook wild rice. Wild rice
cooks in 10 minutes. The Arborio rice is imported from Italy, it is short
grain rice that is used to make risotto. When cooked it has a creamy texture
and is served with the center of the grains still firm to the bite. The
Basmati rice is imported from India, the rice is known for its fragrance or
the aroma it emits while cooking. When cooked the grains are long, slender
and fluffy. The Jasmine rice is imported from Thailand, the rice is also
known for its fragrance or the aroma it emits while cooking. When cooked
the grains are exceptionally white and silky. The parboiled dixiebelle rice
is top quality, parboiled long grain white rice. The variety was developed
to withstand the canning and retort processes while maintaining good texture,
mouth feel and the characteristic grain shape.
